Fivetran adds support for three new Azure Cloud regions

Fivetran expands global coverage with Azure US Central, Canada Central and UAE North.
October 9, 2023

Fivetran’s latest Microsoft Azure Cloud region launches include United States Central, Canada Central and United Arab Emirates North. These additions serve as the latest in global support for companies running on Azure. To date, Fivetran offers seven different Azure cloud regions, enabling users to deploy Fivetran across the globe.

Here’s what you need to know regarding each new and existing region:

Azure US Central

Azure United States Central is located in Des Moines, Iowa. Fivetran users on our Business Critical plan can now choose to deploy on Azure US East in Virginia (default) or US Central (Iowa), or both if necessary.

Azure CA Central

Azure Canada Central is based in Toronto, Ontario. This is the first Fivetran Azure Cloud region in Canada and unlocks the ability for businesses operating on Azure to run Fivetran in Canada.

Azure UAE North

Azure United Arab Emirates North is located in Dubai, UAE. Azure UAE is Fivetran’s first region in the Middle East, unlocking support for companies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Fivetran users operating in the Middle East can now choose to deploy Fivetran in Dubai, UAE, instead of Sydney, Australia, previously the closest Azure region.

Easily meet data residency requirements

Fivetran has cloud regions located around the world to provide our global customers the scalability and flexibility they need to support their businesses as they grow and expand into new markets.

Data residency requirements can make operating a global enterprise challenging. Many countries have laws that require businesses to store and process data within their borders. This can make it difficult for businesses to keep their data organized and secure, requiring awareness of the regulations in each region they operate in.

To help businesses navigate data residency requirements, Fivetran supports a multi-cloud infrastructure that allows customers to easily deploy Fivetran on multiple clouds and orchestrate data between clouds. This gives businesses more flexibility and control over their data movement and helps them optimize their cloud provider usage to minimize their data ingress and egress costs.

Enabling global cloud control

Our varying plans provide global enterprises the flexibility to easily align with their required data residency requirements and optimize for security, speed and cost.

Regardless of your plan, you can select the geography when creating a destination. If you are on an Enterprise or Business Critical plan, you also can select your preferred cloud service provider (GCP, Azure or AWS). Lastly, if you are on a Business Critical plan, you can select a cloud service provider and specific cloud region.

Fivetran Business Critical for Azure

In addition to its multi-cloud capabilities, Fivetran also offers a Business Critical plan for Azure users. This offering includes integrations with Azure Private Link and Azure Key Vault, and Azure Active Directory, which helps Azure users to achieve the highest level of security.

Business Critical also unlocks access to HVR, PCI DSS Level 1 compliance and the option to select US-only support.
