The new standard for data movement
The report notes that the transition to more modern, cloud-native tools has been powered by the rapid rise of cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Databricks and Google BigQuery. This new market contrasts with the traditional legacy data management market, which is dominated by broad or highly customized ETL feature sets that can offer flexibility with the trade-off of complexity and resource-intensive support.
The modern data movement market is growing faster due to a maniacal focus on simplicity, a strong ecosystem and a commitment to only building feature sets that modern data teams require. Legacy vendors continue to lose market share to more agile, cloud-based solutions.
