Introducing the Fivetran Community

Ask and answer questions, learn from experts and collaborate with our community of data practitioners.
November 17, 2022

One of the best things about the data community is how willing people are to help each other. From the most basic SQL questions to complex, technical problems – there’s always someone willing to jump in to help you find an answer. But all too often, that knowledge is lost in the activity feed, and we find ourselves asking and answering similar questions across multiple platforms and channels.

While the Fivetran customer community has been active for a while in various places, earlier this year we recognized a need to bring our customers, partners and team members under one roof to ask questions and share knowledge in a searchable, referenceable online forum.

So to give a bit more shelf life to those in-depth conversations, and more credit to contributors, we’re thrilled to introduce the official Fivetran Community — an online destination for data practitioners to ask and answer questions about Fivetran, learn from technical experts and make connections with industry peers.

What you’ll find in the Fivetran Community

No matter how long you’ve been using (or not using) Fivetran, we’ve designed this community to be useful to any user at any stage of their data journey. We’ve purposefully kept it simple to start, because we believe in building this community with you, not for you. So what we do from this point forward is really up to our members.

Here’s a quick overview of the discussion forums and user groups we have available so far:

Discussion forums

Using Fivetran: This is the place to ask all of your how-to and best practice questions about Fivetran. We also post our product news and updates here to keep you informed of new connectors we’ve shipped and opportunities to join early access programs.

Developer Forum: If you need a little help with a coding project, or want to collaborate with other developers on our open-source integrations with Airflow, Prefect or Dagster, our Developer Forum is the place for all of your coding needs.

Working with Data: For miscellaneous topics that data practitioners care about – other tools in your stack, strategy and best practices, career advice and more – it’s all fair game here.

Group & events

User Group for dbt™: Want to help develop new out-of-the-box data models to fit your analytics needs? Collaborate with your peers and discover better ways to transform your data in our dedicated user group for dbt.

Events: We offer a regular cadence of office hours, hands-on labs and other virtual events designed for education, collaboration and professional networking. Join us to meet other Fivetran users, share what you’re working on and get live help from the Fivetran team.

How to get started

If you’re an existing Fivetran customer, you can use your product login to register in the community. If you aren’t using Fivetran, what better time to try us out? If you decide it’s not for you after the 14-day free trial, you can still hang out with us in the community – we’d love to have you stick around!

More information about registration, guidelines and tips for using the Fivetran Community can be found in our Welcome Center.
