Your data is your business’ most valuable asset. To get the full value of data it needs to be accessible and reliable. Moving data, however, can open it up to risks if it is not handled securely.
Security concerns about data crossing borders, even if only temporarily, should not stop your data projects from moving forward or limit what data you have access to.
For those businesses based in Japan, managing data complexity is already a full-time job without needing to worry about data localization requirements.
This is why we’re excited to announce that Fivetran now offers a cloud region in Japan.
Leveraging Google Cloud, the new instance will serve Fivetran’s growing Japanese customer base, as well as multinational corporations who do business in Japan and want to maintain data residency within the country.
“Fivetran is ideally suited to a country that values automation, depends on data and demands reliability,” commented T.J. Chandler, Managing Director of APAC for Fivetran. “Local data processing in Japan is the next obvious step as Fivetran expands methodically in this market.”
With the ability to set the preferred region, Fivetran customers can decide where jobs are processed to meet their specific data regulations. Our users in Japan are now able to keep up with both security and local regulation requirements while enjoying the benefits of automated data integration that saves data teams valuable time to focus on what matters.
The Japan cloud region adds to existing cloud regions in the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Singapore. Learn more about Fivetran data residency support. This expansion helps us improve our ability to provide a global, highly available service infrastructure for customers requiring locally delivered data pipelines.
