Fivetran Managed Data Lake Service

At Snowflake Summit, we introduced our latest innovation: Fivetran Managed Data Lake Service. 

This new offering is designed to automate and streamline your data lake management, allowing you to focus on what truly matters: using your data and driving innovation. Fivetran Managed Data Lake Service is available on Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Microsoft OneLake.

Our customers at Lyra Health joined Fivetran COO Taylor Brown on theCUBE to discuss how Fivetran Managed Data Lake Service has helped them centralize data into their data lake, including handling the difficult management of PII. This enables their data engineers to instead focus on using LLMs to process and analyze customer sentiment and improve patient outcomes.

Iceberg Table support and Native Apps for Snowflake

We also expanded our partnership with Snowflake by introducing support for Iceberg Tables and announcing the development of enterprise-ready Native Apps. 

The release of the Fivetran Managed Data Lake Service includes support of Iceberg Tables to provide Snowflake customers the ability to create a lakehouse architecture with Apache Iceberg, all within the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. This enables organizations to create a fully automated and scalable lakehouse architecture within Snowflake, ensuring data quality, extensive governance and ease of use. Organizations can leverage these capabilities to avoid the complexity and lack of governability that hinder data lake adoption at scale.

Additionally, we announced our development of Native Apps to provide a faster way for Snowflake customers to leverage Fivetran’s connectors directly from the Snowflake Marketplace. Fivetran will build these connectors using Snowflake’s Snowpark Container Services.

Customers sessions with BlackRock and Honeywell

BlackRock’s Head of Data Product Engineering Dave Woodhead joined Fivetran COO Taylor Brown on stage to highlight their use of Fivetran HVR to provide real-time investment information for large finance institutions across the globe.

Woodhead explained how Fivetran's high-volume, low-latency data movement revolutionized their Aladdin® platform, making it highly valuable for BlackRock and its clients. 

Today, the Aladdin® platform monitors over 5,000 risk factors daily thanks to a modern data stack that includes Fivetran and Snowflake.

Another standout session was presented by Honeywell’s Sr. Director of IT Ram Subramanian and Director of IT Rohit Muttepawar. They discussed how Fivetran addressed the challenge of consolidating data from multiple disparate sources, including SAP and Oracle, to enable real-time reporting. 

Their team chose Fivetran HVR for high-volume data replication from these business-critical sources to enable high-value projects such as dynamic pricing.

Hands-on lab: Building a GenAI app 

One of the most popular sessions of Snowflake Summit was our team showing participants how to build an AI-based trip assistant in just 30 minutes with Snowflake, Cortex and Streamlit. 

The popularity of this session highlighted the industry's excitement around AI and showed how Fivetran enables organizations to leverage existing data to pursue their AI ambitions.

Networking events and more

Fivetran hosted several energizing social events throughout the summit. From our huge kick-off party night one to our Snowflake co-sponsored reception from the top of the Salesforce tower — we had the opportunity to connect with hundreds of attendees over engaging conversation, networking and more throughout the week.  

Fivetran's presence at the Snowflake Summit was a fantastic way to highlight our strong partnership and we look forward to continuing to provide customers with joint solutions that drive immense business value — including our upcoming Native Apps.
