Fivetran’s Free Plan is perfect if you have very low data volumes. Or, if you need more time than the 14-day trial to try before you buy Fivetran, our Free Plan is a great way to experience Fivetran functionality for a small subset of your data volumes before upgrading to a paid plan when you’re ready to move more data through Fivetran.
No, we don’t — hoorah! You can both sign up for a trial and enroll in our Free Plan without a credit card, enabling you to try Fivetran’s automated pipelines without any surprise bills.
After signing-up, you can trial Fivetran completely free for 14 days on our Business Critical Plan. During your trial, you can try as many connectors as you want, see which features meet your requirements, and get a usage estimate. On the other hand, our Free Plan gives you access to our Standard Plan features for volumes under 500,000 MAR for connections, 3,500 MAR for activations, and 5,000 MMR for transformations and has no time limit. You can select the Free Plan during your trial or after you’re a customer, as long as your usage is below the limits.
If you exceed the 5,000 monthly model runs limit on the Free plan, you can either opt to optimize your usage or upgrade to a paid plan. The first time you exceed the limit, your transformations will continue to function during the next billing cycle.
If your transformations usage exceeds 5,000 monthly model runs for the second time:
- Fivetran will freeze your connections, transformation jobs, and your account.
- To continue using Fivetran, go to the Plans page in your dashboard and upgrade to a paid plan by the end of the month.

If you exceed the 3,500 activations MAR limit on the Free plan, you can either opt to optimize your usage or upgrade to a paid plan. The first time you exceed the limit, your activations will continue to function during the next billing cycle. If your activations usage exceeds 3,500 monthly model runs for the second time:
- Fivetran will freeze your connections, activations, transformation jobs, and your account.
- To continue using Fivetran, go to the Plans page in your dashboard and upgrade to a paid plan by the end of the month.

We’ll notify you when you exceed 350,000 MAR and again when you exceed 500,000 MAR. You will receive a one-time grace period to lower your usage or upgrade to a paid plan.
If your connections usage exceeds 500,000 MAR for the second time:
- Fivetran will freeze your connections, transformation jobs, and your account.
- To continue using Fivetran, go to the Plans page in your dashboard and upgrade to a paid plan by the end of the month.
