Having your data when you need it is just as important as having it where you need it. 

That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve enabled a 1-minute sync option across all standard connectors where the API limit allows. Available to customers on our Enterprise and higher plans, 1-minute syncs allow real-time, low-latency data movement for all of your transactional and analytical use cases.

As of today, you can add a new connector with a 1-minute sync frequency or change an existing connector to a 1-minute sync frequency in the Fivetran UI. This change allows greater customization of sync frequencies, from one minute to one day, ensuring optimization and control over your compute and storage resources.

Why 1-minute syncs? Why now?

Fivetran has allowed those on our higher-tiered plans to perform syncs at up to a 5-minute sync frequency for a few years; however, recent product improvements around throughput and latency have allowed us to drop our sync frequency to 1-minute. With the ever-increasing need for faster syncs and real-time data movement, there’s no better time to give our customers this great new capability. 

After trialing 1-minute sync frequencies with our high-volume agent connectors over the past few months, we’ve now expanded the functionality to all of our standard connectors except those that frequently hit their API limits (found here). This new functionality helps our customers meet their needs for a variety of use cases such as regulatory compliance and downtime reduction.

Why leverage 1-minute syncs

Faster sync frequencies enable faster time to insights. Use cases typically fall into three main categories:

Real-time reporting

Regulatory compliance: Stay in compliance with government and industry-specific regulations when you enable 1-minute syncs. Increasing your sync frequency can ensure you never miss a required SLA for your reporting needs.

Predictive modeling

Forecasting: 1-minute syncs can ensure that your forecasts are always accurate and remain valuable to all business stakeholders. Build out predictive models to forecast sales, inventory and financials.

Dynamic pricing: Adjust your prices, discounts and inventory in real-time based on inventory levels and current supply and demand. With 1-minute syncs, you can identify the need for change and update your pricing strategy on the fly to improve sales.

Large language models (LLM): Struggling to keep up with every changing demand and interaction with your LLMs? Constantly feed them new data in real-time thanks to 1-minute syncs. Considerations & limitations

While we’re excited to see the innovation enabled by 1-minute syncs and would love to hear how you’re utilizing them, there are some quick considerations:

• 1-minute sync is only available to customers on Enterprise or higher plan tiers
• Not supported for Lite connectors or connectors that frequently hit their API limits, found here
• Ensure your use case accounts for heightened compute costs in your warehouse or data lake due to more frequent syncs
