The Fivetran team is excited to celebrate Black History Month by spotlighting some exceptional employees who are making and defining Black History in the data industry. See what makes Rahel, a software engineer in our Oakland office, special.
What do you enjoy most about working at Fivetran?
It has been amazing working at Fivetran. I love how every Fivetran-er has respect, trust and care for each other, which makes a great team! Moreover, everyone is supportive, and I get to learn new things every day.
If you didn’t have a career in tech, what would you do?
If I didn't have a tech career, I would be discovering new tech ideas that I could build with my friends. As a backup plan, I would consider studying accounting.
How do you celebrate Black History Month?
By recognizing successful black people and their journey to get where they are today. And also by attending Black History Month events such as panel discussions. Moreover, checking on myself, what I have achieved so far and how I can improve.
What’s one positive personal outcome you’ve experienced as a result of the pandemic?
Since the pandemic, I have been able to do my hair without the need to go to the hairdresser and also I have improved my baking skills.
