Fivetran transformations for dbt Core and Quickstart Data Models provide a powerful, end-to-end ELT solution for your data pipelines, that reduces the time to create analysis-ready data from months to minutes.

After careful consideration, we have decided to introduce pricing for Fivetran Transformations, specifically for our Fivetran-hosted dbt Core transformations and Quickstart Data Models. We understand this may affect your budget, so we’re offering up to 5,000 model runs for free per month to help customers manage costs. This change allows us to continue enhancing the Fivetran platform while maintaining the ease of use our customers expect.

Below is the new pricing structure. 

This pricing structure is the best in the market. With successful monthly model runs, you only pay for what you use and can more directly control and optimize usage and costs. Below is how it works with an example using 35,000 monthly model runs.

Fivetran Transformations has an exciting future. With the general availability of dbt Core orchestration and Quickstart Data Models on January 1st, we will introduce new features to enhance control and customization. One key feature is user-defined jobs, which simplify the scheduling and management of multiple output models. Customers can combine models into fewer jobs and define their own commands, streamlining the transformation process.

Additional features include compatibility for Hybrid Deployment connectors, support for cron scheduling in the Fivetran dashboard and an account-level dashboard for jobs that allows customers to see all transformations in one place.

Quickstart Data Models are one of our signature offerings, making schemas immediately usable for reporting and analytics. With support for over 50 data sources, our range of Quickstart data models is unmatched. We’re committed to ongoing innovation, with more multi-connector data models coming soon. This includes our RAG data models, designed to address LLM use cases by providing chunked documents as source data for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications. We value customer feedback on future capabilities and encourage contributions to our feature requests.

In the interests of transparency, we want to equip you with the information you need to make any potential changes before January 1st, 2025. Your estimated monthly cost will be available in your Fivetran account today, November 4th, 2024. You can control your costs by:

1. Adjusting run frequency by changing your scheduling.
2. Selecting only the Quickstart output models that matter most to you.
3. Refactoring models in your dbt Core project(s). 

For customers looking to maintain costs, we offer a free tier of 5,000 monthly model runs and the option to self-host our open source Fivetran data models. You can reduce or halt your usage at any time within your Fivetran account.
